ASPCA Disaster Pet Preparedness Kit Giveaway
#NatlPrepAugust 23rd marked the 10 year anniversary of the most devastating hurricane to his the United States, Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina killed nearly 2,000 people, left 600,000 pets deceased or homeless. Almost half (44%) of the people who refused to evacuate during Hurricane Katrina said they did so because they felt they could not bring their animals with them. Despite this tragedy, recent poll shows that 35% of pet owners still don’t have plans in place for the next big storm.
